Not much of an article, but I thought this was a terrific description of the table tennis spectator experience. lol

"Table tennis might rival dressage as the least watchable of all Olympic sports. The small table is set in the midst of a large hall, which makes it like watching tennis through the wrong end of binoculars. And the ball is so small and hit so fast it is often hard to see who wins the point even on television."

Well with todays technology all they have to do is track the ball with some kind of CGI effect to give it a shimmer or something and that would solve that on TV! LOL :P

I found sailing the worst TV sport of the Olympics.

Beach volleyball wasn't bad though !!

Aren't we all being just a tad obsessive here? One throwaway comment in an article about something else entirely??? Besides which, we already know from those who were actually there that it was a great spectator experience.

And all right-minded people agree that watching synchronized swimming is only marginally less painful than having your eyeballs polished with ground glass.

The least watchable is by far sailing. Only in TV with the helicopter view and added lines you can see who leads. On land you might as well stick your head into a sack.

Half of the swimming events. 34 gold medals? Way too many.
