Great interview. I think it would help avalox/AVX to publish their list of approved distributors. Right now I know OOAK is and am pretty sure of one in California. I certainly want to buy the "real stuff". I wish he had answered the question about where the new rubbers will be made. Looking forward to their new rubber and new defensive blade. |

I think the P700 would likely be the most suitable for an aggressive attacking style with long pimples, which you could certainly do with the Mo with some sponge. I don't think any of the other would be particularly suitable for long pimples, although quite a few could work quite well for chopping. |

I have had "a thing" for the aramid for a long time. But not pursued it due to defensive style. |

Fascinating story. Interestingly, the "contract manufacturer steals trademark" trick has also happened in the bicycle industry. In the late 1990s/early 2000s, a prominent American disc brake manufacturer, Hayes, trained up a Taiwanese manufacturer to produce their lower-end OEM brakes. While all this was happening, the Taiwanese supplier trademarked the brand in Taiwan, where most bikes that used disc brakes were being manufactured. Came a time when the supplier decided to start manufacturing brakes for one of Hayes' competitors, and Hayes decided to shift to someone else – then discovered that they were not allowed to have their brand name on their own brakes! As one of the top two premium disc brands, this proved a massive handicap, and caused untold damage to the brand in the bicycle market. Bikes were being sold with Hayes brakes, but without any brand name, and over the course of a few years, other brands – including the competitor that the supplier had started building brakes for, after being taught how by Hayes – came to dominate the disc market. |

Apple is dealing with this with the iPhone right now. China is the wild west of IP and Trademarks... Really got to be careful. |

Malaysian dealer: http://www.hypertt.com/ They're in Penang, so I can't just get in the car and go visit. Hmm.. they've got AVX/Avallo AND Avalox blades, so this was confusing until I had a look at the Avallo/AVX list of blades on their own web site: http://www.avalloavx.com/blade.htm So they're still selling the older blades under the Avalox name, but they're made in Sweden. The newer blades are branded Avallo/AVX. I wonder why they didn't just re-label the old blades Avallo/AVX as well. Iskandar |

I'm pretty sure they only make one type now, which is of course made in Sweden. |

Interesting that the hypertt site sells the BT550, BT555 etc but also they have the Avallo AVX BT5 and BT7, not sure what they are but look very similar to the other BT blades. |
