Found this part interesting:

Quote:
What do you think of the shorts vs. skirts/dresses debate in women's table tennis, do you think women in table tennis should dress in a more feminine manner?

Definitely, after all we are women. We should be dressed like women. I think it is a stereotype which has been seeded long time ago around the unisex clothes that women have unconsciously accepted... I truly hope that with the time we will only see skirts and women’s-cut shirts to be worn by female players...

On one hand I agree that different clothing does not mean different status, and the Y chromosome in me doesn't exactly hate seeing good-looking women in feminine clothing, but on the other hand, I feel it's a bit demeaning when women are made to wear somewhat less utilitarian clothing than the men for the sake of better showing off the legs and body.

Killerspin is definitely pushing the "sexy female ping pong player" thing though, and I felt a bit embarrassed seeing Ding Ning repeatedly pulling down her dress when she played at that Killerspin event. Not every woman is going to be comfortable showing off her assets, and they shouldn't be forced to.
