I'm hoping that maybe tonight the U.S. Open results will be processed. For anybody who's been to an Open before, do you remember how long it took for the ratings to get updated?

Ratings are updated! I only lost 16 points, so I'm still well above 1800, at 1832. That Canadian junior got readjusted by over 400 points, and the Venezuelan junior got readjusted by about 300, so my losses to them really didn't cost me much of anything. Winning the matches against the guys rated close to me made the difference. Only the one "bad" loss to the guy in my U-1800 O-40 group, that cost me something like 24 points, otherwise I would have seen a positive gain. Still ranked #9 in the state!

#9 in the state sounds impressive Doug. Who is ahead of you? Mike? Jim? Don maybe? Anyone else I know of?

I think with my rating I'd be #49 in other states.

But, since we don't have a lot of high level players that play tournaments, that's where I'm seeded. Mike and Jim are two of the players above me. I'm still above Don, which surprises me a bit. Nobody knows who the top guy is, it looks like maybe he moved to the state from another state, but it could be an error too. I just think it's fun to say I'm in the top 10 in the state.

I'd be wrapped to me be in the #10 in my club!!! I don't think I'd even rank as #49 lol.

Somehow I think my club might be slightly stronger than your state

Yeah, we don't have a lot of high rated players. We have 2-3 2000 rated guys who play tournaments and probably one or two more who don't. That's the problem for those guys, they don't have anyone above them to use to train against and get better. For guys at my level, there are a good amount of us, so we get to work against each other. We tend to have more guys in the under 1600 range.
