Thanks guys.

Wife is doing very well - no chemo or radio treatments following the op. No signs of cancer and it has now been 18 months. Had a possible bit of trouble downstairs, but the latest scan was on the improve.

I haven't been blogging much as I have just been playing once a week - social doubles with the odd singles thrown in - nothing to write home about as they say in the classics.:)

haha - it feels like 50 years ago! It was only 8, though.. my wife took the video on her phone - and that's all she took. When I watch it, you're right, it reminds me a bit of Charlie Chaplin... :D :D

Got out of hospital yesterday. I had the keyhole surgery but ended up with a drain because "the gall bladder was a ball of pus". They took the drain out on Tuesday. I am OK as long as no-one makes me LOL. The way I am feeling it will be a few weeks before any table tennis for me.

Man, I missed all this medical action. Glad to see you defeated the baddie Goon Squads trying to wreck your body. You deserve good health man, looks like it is shaping up for the better good to hear.

Saw the surgeon 2 days ago. He said no TT for 6 weeks. I have it marked on the calendar and am counting down to it (5 weeks & 5 days to go).

Interestingly there was an 80mm stone in a gall bladder measuring 62mm in length and 29mm in diameter and both were taken out via one of the keyholes in my abdomen.

It still hurts a little when I laugh, which my wife almost delights in making me do.

Just over 3 weeks to go ...

In other news, the local district had its championships including $2,000 total prize money for the open singles & doubles. So I turned up late to help (long story: wife put her mobile phone through the wash the night before, blamed me !?!, so we had to go get a new one before I could go).

I ended up umpiring 2 Rio Olympians and 1 London Olympian. Not sure why the Rio Olympians weren't still in Rio for the closing ceremony.

Umpired at the Taipei Cup with $AU7,500 prize money. I thought that I had posted about it on Friday. Oh well. There were players from a university in Taipei and also some from a club in Indonesia. The singles was won by Rio Olympian Chris Yan.

Last night saw parts of Melissa Tapper's match in the Paralympics on free to air TV - I think it was quarter finals which she lost. Following was a pretty positive interview.

Just heard on the radio that Sam Von Einem is in the gold medal match for his classification against the number one ranked player.
