didnt say what i do now is correct just yet.

im just passing on what my coach said to me. to to slap more. still need to use wrist to spin the ball. and i can trust this guy.

what i said was could be viewed as slight stepping stone followed my refinement..

i find the slap/drive is less demanding if done continiously. doing a safe loop seem more demanding to me ( if done one after another like in multiball)

well, exhuming this old thread, I haven't been able to play much, I did manage to get a digital camera, but someone is borrowing it for a trip. but I havent gotten much practice since I have been hiking and fishing alot (but I suck at fishing too >.>)

anyways, I switched back to shakehand due to random wrist pains from playing penhold (btw i don't grip the paddle hard or anything). but I am confused about the forehand loop...esp with h3 neo, how should i hit the ball, some say to drive through the ball and then change the angle and some say to brush :( because I dont seem to produce as much spin as I think I can, I am relaxed but my loops dont have that high angle nor the sudden plunging from the high amounts of topspin nor can i get the ball to kick off the table...help?

" some say to drive through the ball and then change the angle"

Do you mean change the angle of the bat during the stroke? Such as contact the ball and then change the angle?

yes, http://www.tabletennis.gr/chinese-forehand-foreward-loop-guide.html

AS SOON AS THE BALL TOUCHES THE RUBBER, YOU CAN CLOSE THE PADDLE TO KEEP THE PADDLE QUICK BUT INTO THE FOAM OF THE RUBBER.

Why do you listen to him? Because his forum name is Ma Lin?
He is not doing what he said. I watched the vid VERY carefully. He does not (and CAN NOT) change the angle of the blade at contact. Contact time is less than 4ms. No one can feel contact and then make a change in the stroke while the ball is still on the bat. NO ONE.
Watch the vid. He has good loops. One of the reasons,,,he does NOT change the angle of the bat during the stroke.
That is NOT the accepted "Chinese LOOP". Elbow is bent.
Also, he does NOT start at the same height of the ball like he said to do but below. If you start the stroke at the height of the ball, you can not have any bat speed at contact. Or,,,you are going into the ball only and flat hitting.
He is obviously a good player but what he says and what he does are two different things. Maybe a language problem. Maybe he really thinks he can change bat angle in less than 4ms. :n:

that's what confused me @_____@

anyways, hookshot, for looping (esp with H3neo), my stroke should be linear but more horizontal compared to looping with euro rubbers?

Comparing H3 Neo with euro rubbers,,,,

H3 Neo is lower throw than several euro rubbers I have.
Two choices,,,open the blade more or,,,,change the stroke to lift more.
If you change the stroke to come up more with the same blade angle, you loose speed.
If you open the blade and keep the stroke the same,,,you loose spin.

I found H3 Neo not a verry spinny rubber. I think it makes a good backhand blocking rubber.
The first time I tried H3 Neo, after just a few loops, my partner said, "What are you using" It is not very spinny".

well, darn, I really want a moderately fast rubber but with TONS of spin. H3 neo has more speed than I want but less spin than i want >:U

LKT pro XP is slower and softer, and has a great spin potential and good control. For even more spin, you can try LKT pro XT.

edit: I see geddk beat me to it, in that other thread where you asked for this kind of advice. Myself, I am returning to LKT pro on my fastest blade, after using some fast rubbers which seemed promising but didn't work out in the long run. Still keeping Hurricane 3 on a slightly slower blade...

Many rubbers will give you more spin than H3 Neo.
Regular H3 needs to be boosted to get lots of spin.

to me its starting to feel like its easier to get good spin from Tg3 than H3. the new ones anyway.. the older ones seem to be a good bit better than the new ones provincial version anyway

well, now I have my camera, I can finally record videos... in High definition :D

anyways, but the bad news is that my H3neo has degraded quite abit, I put away my paddle for a couple of days and then it went from a glossy black to this weird grey, and the spin has sharply reduced, I tried life expander to no avail, so it looks like I need to buy a new rubber ;( maybe I buy another one, maybe I get Juic 999 turbo or Globe 999 nation or make a globe999 red sponge I dont know yet.

not really sometimes its the user.. ive had a lazy stint the alst few weeks untill a few days ago. during the sting i couldnt get any power or spin from the rubber. this was due to being lazy and not hitting the ball properly .

and today we had a friendly match agaisnt 2 prmier/div 1 players and one div 4 player. i beat the div 4 player handy enough and i lsot to the premier player 14-12 in the 5th set.

post a pic of the rubber and we could tell.. + how old is it

[EDIT] PS how are them new videos of you coming along
