Fair enough. If you don't like intensive training then you have made the right decision.

WTF dude, this is probably the easiest to attack and most predictable return this LP opponent will ever give you, unless he is a freak of nature and defies teh laws of physics. (Assuming he does not twiddle or step around like he is a version of RSM.)

The best he can do is try to kill the spin on your serve, but he is likely not good or consistant enough to do that. You will get underspin in return, you just have to get over teh wierdness of a topspin looking stroke or block coming back as underspin. We all know that underspin shots are slow, so you have time to be ready, plus it is likely it will come back to BH corner, and sometimes middle of table or Fh line. Either way, you can be ready for this like you are hiding behind a door with a baseball bat waiting for your enemy to enter. Step around and be ready, then you have the option to attack it anywhere you like down the line by-you or back to where it came from with power. your way of saying "Return to Sender".

Against the Korean O40 Achuma LP OX crowd, i use this serve and get it blocked out a lot. In doubles, I have my partner go for a very fast serve lnading deep on endline right near center line. Too fast to step around, Achumas dont twiddle, so they block it back, result is underspin long. EXACTLY what i want as a macho OFF attacking type. EASY and PREDICTABLE shot to put great pressure on opponent and finish on next shot OR that 1st attack decisively ends the point.

The suggestion given to try a fast/deep/spinny FH topsin serve is an absolute nugget worthy of tatooing to your non-hitting hand.

That's good...however without regular intensive training you do realize it is more of a 'Limp to Division 1' rather than a 'Race to Division 1'. :) Tis a pity because you have a nice game. :(

Haha! I like that one Carbonman, I may have to tweak the title a bit now to suit :-) I was obviously just a naive when I came up with that title haha!

So, an update on my current progress at the halfway mark in division 1! I've finished this half on a fairly respectable 60% which I'm very happy with considering it's my first season and the amount I've been training.

At the start of the season, we got off to a flyer, playing 6 matches, winning 5 and drawing 1, myself having won 9/12 from the matches I played in. However, our season then took a sharp turn for the worse and we lost something like 4 games in a row and I managed a measly 3 wins in this time :headbang:

But no matter, for the second half will be looming after Christmas and hopefully so will some decent attendance to training from myself!

Gin's latest game against our friend Conor. I removed the sound because there was too much background noise in the hall and it was hard to concentrate :)

First things first Ed: Serving ;)

Haven't updated here for a while so, first things first: Happy New Year Everyone!  :D

So, a little preview of an upcoming game tomorrow night in my favourite tournament! :)

It's a four-a-side tournament with 16 matches being played in total - all singles, no doubles - all just one game 21 up. I think I've been on the winning side for the past three years and our chances this time are still OK. I haven't trained properly for a while as I've been nursing a slightly bad back, but have managed to get a couple of decent knocks in :P

The team we're playing consists of 4 pretty high quality players, each in the second division of 5 in my area, so some good table tennis should be produced. Hopefully I'll be able to get a video or two but if not, a small review it shall be :D
