:D

oh i thought you compared the crystal + mb 2.0 to revolution with mb 2.0. so would you say you got better reversal with the crystal + mb 2.0 than revolution and mb 1.5? that would be surprising...in that case mb 1.5 + crystal would be worth a try for you (=better reversal than with 2.0)

so i tried mb 2.0 yesterday with couple of other blades i had...tied 1st place was destroyer and crystal...i think crystal is a bit slower so maybe better...

unfortunately i was not able to remove my 1.5 mb from the revolution blade...it was stuck so hard that i would destroy the rubber while removing and i didnt wanted to do that...i will have to use some solvents to help me, it is an operation... :?:
so i couldnt compare crystal with revolution...

when i remove 1.5mm MB i want to try 2 things and than settle...how is revolution with 2.0 MB and how is crystal with 1.5 MB...

stay tuned...

At Eacheng they sell Red, Blue and Black Crystal Carbon. Red and blue have the same specifications:
HRT Blue Crystal Carbon
Type: OFF, Speed: 98, Control: 95
Ply: 5 Wooden + 2 Carbon, Thickness: about 6.5mm±0.2mm
Weight: about 86g±5g, Handle: Long(Shakehand)-FL/ Penhold (Short handle)

While Black has the following:
HRT Black Crystal Carbon Table Tennis Blade
Type: OFF, Speed: 86, Control: 88
Ply: 5 wooden+ 2 Crystal carbon, Thickness: about 6.4mm
Weight: about 88g, Handle: Shakehand (long handle) - FL/Short(penhold)-CS

I think that there must be something wrong with red and blue's specifications.... Should I buy one blue/red and one black?

Like I said....I'm no expert. I thought...apparently mistakenly....that the face of the bade had to be wood.

According to the rules the blade must be 85% wood.

then

"an adhesive layer within the blade may be reinforced with fibrous material such as carbon
fibre, glass fibre or compressed paper, but shall not be thicker than 7.5% of the
total thickness or 0.35mm, whichever is the smaller."

And...I am no attorney.....but it seems like the assumption is that any material other than wood would appear "within" the blade and subject to thickness.

Regarding the face of the blade....would steel or granite, for example, be approvable?

I don't see why they wouldn't be.. You're talking about these, right?

Perhaps you're thinking the carbon is on the surface, that doesn't really seem to be an issue here (you see it two plies in from the face). Not that it would make the blade illegal (can't remember what it was, someone posted a photo of a blade from Yasaka or TSP that had carbon cloth on the surface).

What's that weird stuff on the surface? I have the red version of this blade, it seems to be some sort of glitter. The face is otherwise just wood.
