Today I trained with a ball robot on the attacks and topspin balls.

I had my D.tecs bat and my SpinLord Sternenfall bat.

Attacks went pretty good with both. Allthough I had the feeling it was easier with the Sternenfall.
Chopblocks however where hard to control with the D.tecs. Very jumpy. 2 high or in the net and a few where ok.
With the SpinLord Sternenfall this was much easier. Spinreversal might be better with D.tecs, but I have to hit the ball correct first.

Also the FH rubber is a Battle II. Very different from Rasanter ... but I always played with tacky chinese rubbers so I could adapt very quick.
Because the fast frame the rubber was very good speed for me.

I went away from the table to often during the matches, but I have to work on that.
Sunday is the national championship for old people (veterans, 40 and older .. always thought it was 50 and older).
Not for the win, but to adapt to the different play styles and to get a rythm in my style.

Today where the national championships for veterans as in older people.
It was a good practise for me to see how the training worked off in attacking with the pips.

It went better as expected. Serve with backspin and attack the backspin ball went very good.
I made a few times a mistake in hitting the wrong shot on the wrong ball.
I lost in the quarter finales from a players that was 244 rating higher but we had a great exciting match.

I learned where I need to improve. Lot's off times a defensive shot was just over the net and I want it a bit higer up on the table.
Need to see how to change my stroke. I was thinking maybe get a faster blade, but all wood (no carbon). But that will be expensive as the one I have in mind is not cheap (Victas Koki Niwa Wood).

Tuesday last day in competition. I might need to substitue 2 levels higher on thursday but not sure yet.

All in all a good day with lots of learningpoints and getting more and more feeling with it.

I'm learning from every match I play.

Sunday I made to many mistakes by attacking aggresive on every backspin ball.
Yesterday I tried to hit the ball easier ..... but the effect was they could you attack the ball further.
It's more like bring the ball back dead on the table. That was not the point .

And I had some errors on the long dead serves on the LP ... but that was my bad.
I don't have to do much with it, but they should end up on the table .

Yesterday I played with the carbon frame with the d.tecs.
They realy have more difficulty with the d.tecs. They spin ones, twice but then it goes in the net.
Hard hit balls on the backhand are a bit harder with the fast hard carbon blade.

So I decided to continue trying different options. I ordered a Tibhar Samsonov Pro Force Black edition.
Gonna try the d.tecs on that and see from there again.

Today my new setup was ready and I picked it up.

Tibhar Force Pro Black edition with Tibhar evolution FX-S (instead the MX-S as the frame is faster) and with the grass dtecs.

I had training and after that some friendly matches.

The first thing I noticed was the weight. It was way more heavier than the andro/carbon set. 157gr for this one and 131 for the andro one.
With the bounce test the ball came a little higher than with the andro carbon frame. So it's faster?
But the feel is way different. I could control the ball much better.

During training we did exercises with attack short/backspin balls and just push fast with long pips to FH.
It felt very good so I think I got my setup.
I did move to much away from the table and sometimes I did the backhand attack like a normal rubber ..... but I have to reprogram my tabletennisbrain >

Now it's time for training/practise and matches till the new competitions season in october . Long time to train.

I will do training every tuesday. The trainer does give me special LP excersises as well so happy with that.
First I will do a special competition that is outside the NTTB/ITTF.
It's extra to fill the big gap to the new season. Say i'm rating 1200 and I have to play versus a 1000 rating (or 1400 rating). There is a difference off 200 points.
200 points is 5 points. So have to give or receive 5 points. It's to 21 so we start at 5-0 and go from there.
This way everybody should have a change to win ... but always the higher ratings win it .
But it's fun. 4 vs 4 so everybody plays 4 matches and a doubles. 18 points to win .....
After the 4 team poule the first 2 teams continue in the draw of R64 and we go from there.

After this i'm planning on going to germany. 2 days of long pips training from Sebastian Sauer.
And after that there is a summer evening competition. Well more like 5 tournaments where you get a total result.

Than a little summerbreak, and than the new competition .

I was .. euh, I am a bit stuborn ..........
So i tried a Butterfly combo .... with 1.5 sponge .......
omg how can I not hit a ball over the net hahaha. It was so weird and different ..... after 5 min I gave it back.
It was so weird. I had no feeling with attack shots, and with defend shots I could not get it over the net.
Well atleast I tried Now I know I will keep the ox for sure.

Going to test some other LP just to feel differences.

OX to 1.5 mm is a huge jump. For me, my play was better at 0.5, then I tried 0.7. It improved a lot again at 1.0 to 1.2, but 1.5 it goes down worse than 0.5. If I could only have back the years I wasted on OX...

I have played with 0.5 before. I might try that again.
I have 3 test combo's now but all ox. Keep testing with this a little bit more.

Played 3 competition evenings now with Tibhar Force Pro Black Edition / Tibhar Evolution FX-S / Tibhar Grass D.tecs 0x combo.
It grows on me more and more. Getting better that is for sure.
equel rating or up to 200 higher I can win ....

But still making to many mistakes by going back to old strokes from memory.
But it will need time to be more solid and better.
I do need to find my way more .....

Soon I will be testing the other pips on the Korbel SK7 frame and see how these go.

It's getting better and better but still it does not feel the correct frame.
The butterfly felt better, but it's so heavy it hurts my risk

I read that carbon/fibre blades makes the sweetspot bigger. If you take INNER carbon it's not as hard and good to play with.

Man it's so hard to find the perfect blade. I might try the Tibhar Treiber CI OFF but not sure yet.
I'm also thinking about the Dr Neubauer Matador Texa Carbon. Or rhe balsa ... the Dr Neubauer Matador Texa Balsa it's a bit lighter.
Or maybe even the Dr Neubauer Magical Touch .......
Pfffft. so many choices.

Today my Koki Niwa Wood has arrived.
Same rubbers as the Tibhar.


It has great low arc, lower than tibhar. But is was WAY slower.
The blade was 83gr. Total with rubbers 142. Same as the Tibhar btw.


I really had problems with the slow forehand. With the LP it was ok.

It felt kinda the same. For the FH I have a MX-S rubber laying so I will try that.
But for now not sure what to think.

Later this week the Andro will arrive. But I can only play with it next tuesday.

I moved the MX-S to the Victas frame, but also my Andro Treiber FI frame arrived.
With rubbers total weight was 151. So 9 gram heavier, but it feels less.
Also when you take it in your hand it feels so much better. Maybe because i'm used to the Andro Kanter FO.

And it played perfect for me. FH attacks where low over the net. I could block slow or fast .... it felt great.
On the LP it's a bit low arc, but I will get used to it. I could easy attack with the LP. So much more feeling with it.
First topspin chopblock, they give the ball back with backspin and I can attack. Or even hit it again .... Perfect.

I love this combo .. I didn't even try the MX-S on the Victas. This felt great.

Today I had training, next week again and than next week friday there will be a special summer competition for 5 fridays with total results for the winner.
Good practise for match experience .... looking forward to it.

I have been using a yasaka Falck W7 blade with rakza X max on FH and saviga V LP with 1 or 1.2 sponge for a while. I loved the FH feel, but I dislike the backhand as it is too fast for me to handle (although I have been trying to control it for months. I decided to try the koki niwa wood and I agree with you-it is much slower than all the reviews I read and much slower than my Falck W7. My first practice with it was not great. I also tried it one match in a tournament and it was a disaster, but I think I had a bad glue job. The Victas blade has more vibrations, but I am getting a better feel and control with my backhand. I also tried a sheet of tenergy 05 in max sponge and that was a looping machine.

I look forward to see your conclusions regarding your blade set-up.

After some matches yesterday where I won 2 and lost 2

One match I should have won but I went in the match with the wrong mindset .... (I always lose from him).
the other match I have never played against him. Seen him play and thought this I can do.
It was a very exciting match .... up to the last set. 10-8 for me and 2 matchpoints. But instead to just continue the play, I wanted to finish fast as I lost the other 2 sets with 16-14 and 14-12 .....
But I was to wild and made mistakes. Back to 10-10 and lost in 13-11.

Analyzing .....
I saw I need to be closer to the table.
The ball on the backhand should be taken way more early instead 1 mtr behind the table. Put your belly on the table GF.
Also the attack balls with LP didn't do well because i was to far from the table, and make my strokes to long.


Good practise and up to the next evening off matches. I need to be ready when the competiton starts
