to some degree...+1

I even prefer my socks color (even if its hidden in the shoe with just white outer) to blend in lol.

Don't even get me stated with socks Reb  I've seriously considered a low-cut versus high-tops thread only to be disappointed that it's been done(if I recall correctly)...really disappointed that we can't find blue striped addidas socks here compared to blacknwhites :swear:

Is there a specific reason for my personal bias towards blue...YES RL...I think blue looks best on me...never really liked the way I fit into reds with black trim...and with the undies, well it worked out that way because I had a lone pair compared to all the other plain fruit of the looms :)

 I am the exact opposite.

If I have a ball in my left pocket, (from either just carrying it, or from previously practicing) I HAVE to take it out.

I thought you are wearing blue for victory!
I also carry a ball in my pocket. I feel victorious and lucky when I have one. Maybe I'll try 2 balls for assured win!

I think I've developed a minor superstition. On Wednesday I used a blade in competition for the first time WITHOUT edge tape. Normally I don't like the look and like to have new edge tape to make the combo feel new and fresh however I was just deciding whether to keep using the combo for this week's club championships so didn't bother with the tape as may have been taking off the rubbers again straight after. As it turns out, I played the best I ever have. Since next week is the biggest week of the year, I've decided to leave everything as it is, including no edge tape.

I'm sure my next loss will snap me out of it.

I always wear my watch even on games. It makes me feel more balanced and I feel anxious if I don't wear it. :|

So do I, never really thought about taking it off though. I never do apart from shower and sleep.

I get superstitious about videoing matches during a tournament. If the first one I record I win or perform well, I think it was partly bc of video, reverse if I lost or played badly. This is a superstition because I completely forget about the camera when I actually play. The only time I ever think of it is if there is some super-unusual point, and then I will only think glad that's on video and immediately forget about it again.

I try not to get stuck with too many "superstitions" as they can become pretty time-consuming and exhausting after a while, but despite that I have a couple of things which I tend to do:
A Nadal-esque placement of my water bottle, it should always be on a certain side of where the towel hangs.
I take two sips of water before the match (always after the warm-up) and sub-sequently two sips of water between every set.
If I lose a match starting from a certain side of the table I always choose the other side for the next match.
I always have an handkerchief in my right pocket while playing.
Some shirts which have been used during a particularly bad session usually gets retired from active duty (unless they have previously proven their worth).
I always choose the same when we draw lots about who should begin serving.

Pretty sure my edge tape superstition will come to an end when our championships are over at the end of the week. When I glued on my forehand rubber, I wasn't sure if I got a good covering of glue on one spot or whether it just dried quick. During a couple of pushes, I made contact with the top of the table which peeled off the rubber in that spot. I'm sure that if edge tape were on it would have held so for me, as a light gluer, edge tape is pretty essential.

I have a few quirks but mostly keep them hidden. only the observant notice. some of my students deliberately mess with me. lol

- Must have all the barriers closed up appropriately before starting
- Towel must be ready (non negotiable )in my bucket or on my side. Towel down vigorously after warm up before match (They hide my towel )
- water bottle/my timeouts always the right corner not left
- Change my shirt the moment it gets too sweaty. I go through 2-5 shirts in a normal weeknight session. tournament's don't even ask.
- I always give away the serve when I win the toss. Always. (means you serve at 9-9 in sets 1,3,and 5)

I'm sure there's more they'd be able to tell you!

Good tip, might be something I'll take on board.
