We started this idea almost a year ago viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6932 and I'm really keen to get back into this.

The idea is to create a map showing all the table tennis clubs world wide. This can be extended to include locations of other TT related venues, or even the approx locations of our members.

So if anyone is planning to travel, a quick look at this map will tell you all the clubs nearby, and which members to PM for more information or a hit.

Thanks to so_devo's help previously, I've created a Google map with a few locations of clubs just to get started here:

Adding the clubs worldwide is a big task, but will be a great asset to players worldwide. So I'm asking for a few people to help my get some locations on onto this map... The google map software allows for multiple people to add locations, and it's not hard to do.

Other can help by posting the addresses of clubs in this thread, so that we can add them.

Wow, North Carolina sounds like US TT Central!!

There are several others too in North Carolina that I didn't have addresses for! The U.S. Table Tennis Open was held in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2006.

I'm still trying to work out how I can zoom out and show the world map as the default setting, instead on it zoomed into the first club I added.

We have an Aussie-themed restaurant chain here in America and they have a map on the wall that shows Australia in the center with all of the continents upside-down. You should do that!

 

LOL I like that! I know we have a lot more non-Aussies than Aussies here though, so this might not go down too well
