I'm not in the least surprised at the outcome. That particular US team was pretty weak by any international standard!

To be fair, one of the problems for the USA is that they are so isolated from the rest of the TT world. I don't believe the issue is lack of talent, but lack of exposure to the higher levels of play and coaching.

At least we (Aussie's) have a few players active overseas from time to time. I also notice on the ITTF website we have an advert for a National Coach. It's harder to imagine the US bringing in an O/S coach, instead of promoting one of their own.

this from the world team championship in asia?

I was watching a some of teh 1st round last week on eurosport, mathew syad doing comentry....

I havent been able to watch much but ive enjoyed what ive seen
