Anybody remember our member Kinetic Explorer ? Where would he be in this OOAK list ranking?

I had a game with him few years back when he visited Jakarta.

I certainly remember Kinetic, but I have no idea where he'd rate.

I fitted you guys into the list based on videos I've seen D/A. Hopefully I'm not too far off the mark!

I think that will do for a start. Perhaps Auzcar should be higher, he has almost 1900 points in Sweden (I will be at 1450 next time) and top level player Xu Hui (who would be at least top 20 in the world) is at 3000 and Mattias Karlsson (also very active in Sweden, ranked at #45 in the world) is at 2800. Fabian Åkerström is at #200 in the world and has 2600 points in Sweden. Malte Möregårdh is at 350 in the world and has 2500 points. His brother Truls is at 450 in the world and he also has 2500 points.
Gustaf Ericson almost 2500 points.
Aguirre, Marcelo: 2450

Interesting! Seems to me that RC in the US doesn't come close to comparing to RC numbers in Australia. An RC of 1400 in Australia would equate to a solid 2100+ USATT. I guess this makes sense given the data in the different countries would come from different start points and influences. It might also mean different states in both Australia and US (and any other country using it) will end up with rankings that don't reflect the same actual skill levels.

1400 RC in many places in USA would be low 1700s USATT.

You would need to be into the upper 1700s / low 1800s to crack 2100 USATT in the US of A.

Yes, there are some factors that affect how "accurate" and "consistent" an RC rating is. Some are the fault of who assigned initial rating. Some are a syndrom of the same players fighting for the same points and some players getting better, but no corresponding point gain. That is a deflationary pressure. It does happen when a large number of players get better and compete for the same ratings points.

I did my first USATT tourney which was also submitted to RC and my USATT rating was mid 1500s while my RC was low 1300s.

I forgot, Kanak Jha is at 2509 points (#61 in Sweden), he is around 300 in the world, what would he be in USA?
His sister Prachi has 1824 points (slightly lower than Auzcar), where would she be in USA?
Aguirre, Marcelo: 2450 points in Sweden, at 233 in the world.
Padasak Taniviriyavechakul, almost 2600 points in Sweden, 252 in the world

So, put Auzcar at at least Bogeyhunters level, or perhaps 2400 USATT.

Edit: I made a formula based on Kanak and Prachi. This suggests that USATT is: swedish points*0,27+1882. This formula gives Auzcar USATT almost 2400 and me 2250.

Now, this formula is only based on two players, so I really would need more players points in both systems to get some kind of valid translation between those two systems.

What was Timothy Wang's USATT at the end of 2014 (or now)? He had a Swedish ranking of 2239 but that not based on many matches. Most players also increases their ranking with around 100 points per year, so he would most likely be at 2350 or so in Sweden now.

Who else who has been playing in Sweden has also been playing in USA?

Filip Szymanski was in a video from a competition in US, where he beat Sun Jian Fei, he is active now in Sweden but was abscent for a few years (you loose 100 points every year if you do not compete). He has 2230 today, but he should be around 2500-2600.

Carlos Franco Medina (1993)??? He has 2600 in Sweden today.

The following players are registred as foreign players in Sweden from USA (besides Jha):
Ebuen Ernesto, around 2300 (active now, but only a few matches)
Pech Seth, born 1995, 2054 in Sweden (he is active now)

Can anyone check their USATT?

BTW, I think that there was this rather good Swede playing and living in Australia a couple of years ago... Was it Johan Sondell? 2380 in Sweden.

Agree, much of the integrity of the system relies on correct initial points bring allocated. You also need club players playing against other clubs and tournaments to get excess points in or out of the club.

Interesting initiative, Reb :-)

From a ranking comparison I once read at a French or German forum (comparing French, Belgian, German and USA-ratings) I must be around 2100usatt, maybe just a little higher. Officially, I am ranked a bit (one ranking scale) higher than Lorre but in our mutual encounters he's leading 2-1 :whew: and he's having a good season now. I think we're both at the same level of Def-attack, maybe slightly lower.

That sound like it would work quite well with my formula above, which I still feel overrated my USATT a tad, I guess 2100-2200 would be more approriate. I think the formula got a little wrong, due to Prachi Jha's low Swedish ranking. I don't know why she got such a low first ranking (there are certain rules how the first ranking points should be calculated). She has beaten several players above 2000 points and lost only to one player below 2000, so I would say she should be around 2050 at least, if she had played more matches (she just beat Naomi Owens who is at 2188).

With that correction the new formula would be: swedish rankingpoints*0,39 + 1576. This gives me a more moderate (and realistic) USATT-point at 2134 and Auzcar gets 2309.

It would be nice if anyone could check Seth Pech's ranking points in USA.
