I will be in Dublin on Wednesday.... and free to play during the afternoon or evening. Can anyone recommend somewhere to play, or, better, are there any Dublin-based forum members that could meet me?

Another club close to the city centre worth trying is the following...
https://www.facebook.com/Dublin-Table-T ... ts&fref=ts
Open this Wednesday from around 6pm (officially 6.30pm) but closes around 9pm.
Was there last Monday but only a handful of players given the weather & the time of the year.
Club is run by a former no. 1 Na Ning.

Pingzone runs a bit later until 10.15pm but you would need to be there before 7.30pm to ensure to partner up with someone - preference for inverted but there's a good pip playe who is Italian. There is a back entrance into the secondary school from the LUAS (Kilmacud stop).
Also worth noting that they have an open tournament on this Sunday - you sometimes get past members coming back from abroad to play in it.

If you are still around on the Thursday there is another place called balgriffin TTC on the north side up past clare hall shopping centre opposite campions pub from 7.30pm to 10.15pm - ask for balgriffin hall. Junior club is called Hilton grove TTC. Friendly club - Thursday night is their social club night. On the malahide road.

You might post which club you'll be going to - if I can't make there'll one or 2 others that browse on here will look out for you.

I could make either - which do you recommend? Are you free?

Drop me a PM?

Maybe as a guest probably opt for Pingzone. Much bigger facility and you can play from 5.30pm onwards until late. A little tight for time but will see you over there - will probably get there from around 7.45pm and will look out for you. It only costs €5 for pay and play.

If anyone was wondering what happened in Dublin - we did meet up.
He was surprisingly better than the youtubes that I saw him in.
Reckon it may have been a steep learning curve using SP and then LPs on the FH/BH along with another setup with sponge. Plus twiddling.
Good to have met a forum member.
