Tristan Flore vs. Ma Long (Quarter Finals)

http://cdn.laola1.tv/ittf/iframe/player ... ristan_FRA

This was one heckuva match. Flore (World no. 100) has a very, very deceptive serve - in the first game he won 4 points outright when Ma Long's return just sailed over the table (or into the net). I manage to do this quite often to people I play against at weekend doubles, but I didn't think it was possible to do this to the World No. 1. He raises his throwing arm way up in the air and drops it as the ball comes down - you wonder if it serves as a distraction.

Jeon Jihee/Yang Haeun vs. Liu Shiwen/Ding Ning (Finals)

http://cdn.laola1.tv/ittf/iframe/player ... Shiwen_CHN

Fantastic doubles match. First time I've seen little kids march in with the players (usually it's just the umpires). Interesting that they warm up with just one ball (and not crosscourt with two balls, like I've seen some people do). Looks like a pretty laid back warmup.

Fang Bo vs. Fan Zhendong (Quarter Finals)

http://cdn.laola1.tv/ittf/iframe/player ... endong_CHN

Some REALLY spectacular counterlooping rallies towards the end. With all the talk about illegal serves - I notice that Fang Bo, in particular, does throw the ball towards his body. Not just a little bit, either. Since he's standing sideways to the endline I wonder if the umpire can see it, but it's very, very obvious from where the camera is. Fan Zhendong does it as well. In any case, they weren't being called by the umpires.

These matches obviously weren't live, the online video site shows all matches being completed. The North Korean Open also just took place - looks like only North Korean and Chinese players, no one else (not surprising, given the current climate). Even the Chinese aren't first tier. I wonder if any of the North Korean players took part in the South Korean Open.

Wow!! thanks for posting that iskandar!

I just watched the first match. That player Tristan Flore might have a bright future in the top level of the game! He beat Timo!

Flore has quite a serve. He's certainly a competitor and a gentleman. And that last point of the match sure was entertaining!
