About 30+yrs by now.

All round, with lots of modern defending (serve, block, retreat and attack when possible).

Love sports. Played soccer, cricket, basketball, tennis, volleyball and golf when I was younger.

I went to the introduction section but somehow ended up posting in the general. Must be finger trouble.

Thanks for the welcome though.

I've got a Ross Leidy blade (faster on the one side and slower on the other)
Forehand rubber red is Tenergy 05
Backhand rubber black is Grass Dtecs ox

I must say my journey in trying to play defence / modern defence started about 5 years ago.

The blade I then used was fibercom with Dtecs with around 1mm sponge and Spin Art rubbers. I was then fortunately directed to Ross. That was about 3 years ago where I started and stayed with the 05 and Dtec ox. When I'm back at work tomorrow I'll send the blade make up.

I must say that before this set up I was playing rather average winning around 40 to 50% of my league matches. Since then I've averaged 70 plus in the league. I also got to win our national vets over 40's which I never thought I'd do. The increase in win rate is also due to me practicing much more on my robot but that's because I do enjoy my game so much more.

I have 2 of these blades and I have asked Ross to place me on his waiting list (6 months) for another 2 of these blades. So I'm really content with the blade feel but might experiment with different rubbers (EJ) since the tenergy rubbers are rather expensive. There are a few long pips that sounds intriguing to try out at some point.

Wow, I had no idea Ross was so busy making blades! :o

Welcome to the forum Stretch. I don't think we have too many from Africa here, although I think PRW is originally from SA.

That's because it's not his full time job. So only work on blades on free time.
