Wow, the ITTF have just announced that the Gold Coast will host one of the platinum events for the 2017 world tour! :clap: :clap: :clap:

I wondering if they have a venue that's large enough?

First thought was that it was actually at Tweed Heads, which is close to the Gold Coast.

Doesn't appear to be on the TTA web site yet. However there is a 2016 Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games at "Gold Coast Table Tennis" in November this year.

According to this 14 tables in separate areas, taraflex floors, allows for up to 100 spectators.

That should be enough for the typical ITTF tournament </snide remark>.

Often they hire a sports stadium for events like this, and just borrow table from local clubs (or a sponsor provides the tables).

True. Australian Vets this year is in Sydney, but not in the usual TT NSW home venue although within walking distance.
