Today very interesting thing happened during the match.One of the players glasses fell from his face on the table while hitting the ball.The glasses fell on the table just he hit the ball and won the point.For me ,although he won the point he lost it because of his glasses.Any comments will be welcome.Thanks

No obstruction, so no point against. May have changed conditions of play, so could have been a let.

They may have been in the frame, but definitely made a spectacle of themselves.

Yep, I was thinking their glass eye popped out.

Considering its not captured under these rules: -
2.10.01.09 if an opponent, or anything an opponent wears or carries, moves the playing surface;
2.10.01.10 if an opponent, or anything an opponent wears or carries, touches the net assembly;
2.10.01.11 if an opponent's free hand touches the playing surface;

Its definately not points against. As pointed out above, it could perhaps have been a let though
2.09.02.04 because the conditions of play are disturbed in a way which could affect the outcome of the rally.

Like Peterpong & Rokphish2 I visualised a glass eye falling on the table as he hit the winning point. :rofl:

If the glasses fell on the table while the ball was still in play, I would call a let. It might not have bothered the eyeglass wearer, but it would've distracted his opponent.

Technically, it's still a let if the ball was in play even if not returnable by the opponent because he was out of position or some other reason.

I think it depends on whether the glasses fell before or after the opponent could be distracted. If they were caused to take their eye (not their glass eye :lol: ) off the ball due to the falling glasses, then there is certainly an argument for a let. If the glasses fell on the follow through action of a smash that saw the ball well past the opponent before it was noticed, then point to the glasses wearer.

PS. I changed the title of this thread to reflect the real occurrence and end the confusion :up:

Sorry "Fadil Olguner" it's just my warped sense of humour ;) when I looked at your post for a second time I knew it was eye glasses. On the incident I think it should have been a let! :up:

I would definitely call a let, especially since they fell on the table, that's a big distraction in my book.
