It looks like ASICS has discontinued the gel rocket 7 that a lot of TT players wear. Google doesn't return any mention of a GR 8. The other ASICS shoes are much more expensive, so maybe that's their reason to quit making this line.

I liked these shoes for the great cushioning. Does anyone recommend another shoe for TT (not a TT shoe unless cushioned) to replace the ASICS?

I myself am buying a cheaper alternative to what i'm wearing now.
its hard cause im a shoecaholic, suppose to buy it this month , but bought a pair of timbs instead and blew my budget on shoes for this month T.T.
Been wearing both my nikes alternating them, one is fusion run which is kinda high grip sole but with high ankle guard somewhat like a basketball shoe, another one is the more expensive flyknit lunar run 2, whew such a dream to even walk in those.

I was planning to wear just the fusion run, but the high grip hinders me a bit when practicing the shifting my weight and strafing from side to side.

Come december, ill be buying a court shoe for beaters in ping pong training, was looking on puma court ( cant help it!) but maybe gon get a badminton shoes like li ning or yonex ( so much cheaper than most brands)
