The new ranking module was finally enabled in one of my local leagues: https://www.tabletennis365.com/southend/Ranking I have read somewhere it is based on the Table Tennis England ranking. Until now only the top level players were ranked. Finally, the ranking is available to almost all players, or at least until this module will be enabled in all leagues.

I also wonder how could this be converted into USATT rating.

Greetings Dan, may see you Sunday.

Interesting list...I'm ranked 8th and beat #9 and lost to #7 last week! So that was true to form but there are a couple of players below me (10 or even 20 places) who should be much higher. I think they just don't play enough of the national stuff to get a true ranking, and that is higher weighting.

To contribute towards your question though....I don't profess to know the answer....I think around 10% of the 350 players would be 2000+ from what I understand. Not strictly the top 35 as some look underrated and vice-versa. Southend is a pretty strong league. At least 3 players have been top 20 nationally, one top 3.

If someone could explain how the points are awarded or taken away ,this has me confused, last season I was getting 1 for a win then minus 10 for a loss!

There are LOTS of rules that determine the points change after a result. Our league has just enabled Ranking as well, and here is a link to the full explanation of the process.

If it's anything like USATT/TTR rating system, then amount of points exchanged depends on the difference in original ratings - if you beat someone way below you, you will get very few points and vice versa.

Whoever comes up wit the rating system usually publishes the table to make sure everyone understands how points are awarded, the one for USATT is here:

http://www.teamusa.org/usa-table-tennis ... ystem-work

(ignore lengthy description of adjustment procedures).

Greetings so_devo!
Was a good training last Sunday. I wonder if I ever reach such high ranking, but we will see.

It's not so obvious to figure out how to use the tabletennis365 website ranking list to find out what your national and county rating is too. For example, until today I didn't realise that by hovering over your ranking a pop up box will also display your national, region, county and league ranking as well as your British National league rnaking - if you compete in that competition.

Comes with a caveat though. The best player in our league is quoted as having a national ranking of 248 but if you check TT Englands national ranking our best player doesn't register in the top 250.

It's good fun though if you're interested in how you roughly compare to other players in other leagues and it's a useful reference tool if your league runs a handicap competition, or if your league insists on players playing in teams according to ability rather than "friendship".

Strangley, you don't get the option to see your "national ranking" if you go via the "Ranking" tab at the top of the website.
