So, apart from complaining here have you sent off an email to the web master or anyone else at TT Australia?

Neither have I. :)

I did look at the ITTF web site and poked around at the documents to do with the Pro Tour Platinum events. Can't see where it say it has to be on the the national organisation's web site so many months in advance.

However you would think that a little more fanfare on the TTA website would not cost much if anything at all, especially if it is mostly just a page of text prominently linked to from the main page.

I am a Retriever, not a marketer. (must add that to my sig for these posts :) )

I am not making any complain. I am not even a member of the Association / organisation.
Organisations don't need to receive any formal / verbal complaints to act. If they are aware of any deficiencies they should rectify it. If they are unwilling or unable to act, then formal complaints won't be effective either.

I assume the organiser of The Open would be TT Australia. Otherwise I am barking up the wrong tree. Promoting an event adequately is surely a prerequisite of any organiser. Does not require any written rules to do it. Moreover the event has 10 fold the amount of funding. I wonder whether the sponsors are happy about the situation.

It's supposedly held in my home town, assumedly by my local state organization - by now I think they'd be ramping up. Haven't yet heard a peep. Don't even know what Centre would take it if it were here.

The closest world class playing space is at Tweed Heads (Seagulls) and there's a Junior ITTF tournament there shortly that they're talking far more about.

Yes, that's the Oceania Hopes Week and Challenge for juniors born in 2004 or later. Five days of intensive high-quality training followed by a day of competition.

I've got a few mates playing there - a couple of our local young guys hoping to pick their game up. Go Mateo!
