Not that there's anything going on at the moment (it's early AM in Germany right now I think). Took a while to figure out where to look.

What's this about a paid service??? Seems free to me.

It perhaps is not such a benefit to stream live in Australia, as you are many hours out-of-sync time-wise with Germany. Only one hour difference here. We have had pretty much every match streamed live, on all tables in both halls. Now down to two tables in use. I am surprised though that Fox control what would be streamed on ITTV. Bad karma for unleashing Murdoch on the world...?

Just about to watch Hirano/Ding, which is one of the most enticing matches.

So ASTRO allows live ITTV here while Fox doesn't allow it in Australia? I suppose that makes sense.. in which case Fox is to blame. And you know what Fox is like..

So China wins all the championships yet again. Oh wait! Japan won the newly added mixed doubles. What happened? Oh. I see. China didn't enter a team. Hollow win if there ever was one.

China haven't entered a really first-rate XD pair since 2007, from 2009 till 2013 tending to give the XD places to players not yet on the CNT first team, and since then pairing up an individual with someone from another nation (eg Groth/Feng Yalan, Fang Bo/Solja this year) - kind of both a consolation prize to their lesser players and a gesture of 'Friendship' to the rest of the world (and the ITTF who don't want China to dominate everything). Kind of insulting and like you say, something of a hollow victory for the winners.

A far cry from eg 1999 where China entered 9 pairs, all of whom made the last 16, where 8 of those 9 pairs won through to the last 8. That's right, the last 8 pairs were all Chinese - (and - surprise, surprise - the crowds stayed away).

By the way the Mixed Doubles aren't 'newly added' - they've been a feature of every World Championships since 1926. You're probably thinking of the Olympics, where the TT competition has never included XD.

You wonder why they want XD instead of MD or even WD...maybe because those are partly included in the Team Events.
