Hey community.

I've got a few questions relating to receiving payments from buyers through paypal (new to this).

1) How can I give buyers my paypal payment info without disclosing personal details?
2) Is it generally frowned upon to allow the option of 'friends or family' payment option?
3) If 'friends or family' option is not offered, is it standard to incur an additional 4% fee?
4) Are there any other pitfalls/scams that buyers can pull off?

I'm about to proceed with a deal in my FS thread upon where I will be receiving the payment through paypal.

Thanks for the help.

They only need your paypal Email address

2) Is it generally frowned upon to allow the option of 'friends or family' payment option?
Yes it's risky for the buyer, because if the goods are not as expected, Paypal offers little protection.

3) If 'friends or family' option is not offered, is it standard to incur an additional 4% fee?
It's negotiable between buyer & seller, some charge it, some don't. You need to take it into account when setting the price you want to sell for.

4) Are there any other pitfalls/scams that buyers can pull off?
Send via registered mail at least, because if the buyer does a charge-back, you'll need to show proof you've sent the item. There's always a risk that chargebacks happen, so it's good to check out the person you're selling to.
