Care to share any quick-and-dirty ways to remove the time in between points played in videos on iPhones (iOS) or Macs (OS X)? At the moment I just chop off the time before and after each game in OS X or iOS Photos, but I would like to make the video files a lot leaner for viewing and uploading.

Would iMovie be the fastest if I have ~30 or 40 games to shorten from a typical pennant night?

Fastest would be to hire people. In the end you still have to watch every one of them and cut out stuff.

I have trouble even doing my own videos to send to the coach.

Also, you have to worry about key frames with compressed video. I use Videoredo for TV shows, which only recodes (renders) around the cut points, so is quite quick, but it does not work natively under Apple or Linux Os. But yes, still takes some time to get through the footage.

This will be no help to you hangdog but maybe to others. I use windows movie maker. As our internet is slow in Aus (speed test just showed 2.6mbps download and 0.16mbps upload) I do my videos in 640 X 480 and try keep them short otherwise takes too long to upload.

I don't know if it would be the quickest but you could try using OpenShot. It might fit your criteria well. It's quite easy to use and it has versions for Linux, Mac and Windows.
