Darker Japan agreed to answer some questions via an interview, so if you've got some questions you've always wanted to ask them, here is your chance.

I'll limit questions to about 10, as I don't want to push my luck, but please post questions here, and I'll pick the top ten. ;)

Darker used to be quite famous several years back then seems to be lost. What are they doing to get back in the game? Are they planning to widen/broaden their market or they are satisfied with current production? The 2016 catalog seems like something a decade or two old catalogs. Are they going to have some redesigning in mind?

Seems like several questions, but mainly one, I guess...

I like the middle question and not being that familiar with Darker, that is something I would ask. Do they plan to go from Boutique to more mainstream?

I still own three Darker Speed 90 blades. That was their flagship handmade product.

Their new products seem to never miss Kiso hinoki. Will hinoki continue to be the key ingredient in the future?
How will they adapt the poly ball era?

I guess the interest for Darker really took a dive in recent years... So sad...

I can't say I remember them being 'quite famous' several years back, to me they always seemed a lesser known manufacturer that most people had not heard off, but very highly regarded by a small group of followers.
I think it's a good question if that's indeed the case, but is it? Were there perhaps a lot more distributors outside Japan in those days?

Yes, more accurately, "very highly regarded by a small group of followers", which was the one ply hinoki groupies.

This helped in people trying out their other offerings as well. I think their 7P-2A was quite popular as well. There might be 1-2 other models too back then.

Here in Indonesia Darker had a small time frame of popularity back then, and now almost nothing.
