This video shows fault calls by umpires for internation games. I think most are quite legit, but the umpires cop quite some flak at times.

the decision (female referee) at 0:30 is actually right upon second inspection since he lifts the hand with the ball a while before tossing it. but she spoils her decision by saying "15 cm" when its 16 cm.... |(

I feel the problem is that we don't have a TT culture of rule enforcement.

And good luck for any player who has to try to change their serve because it is illegal and is being called as such.

We have a top player at our club who serves every serve illegal.
Some players call them on it and they just argue.

You go to a tournament and nothing is being called.
I got my club level umpire certification and was umpiring in my first tournament and I asked the referee, "how exact do you want me to call it?"
"Should I call every thing"

Basically he wouldn't say that I shouldn't follow the rules, but he also wouldn't say something like "yes, it's your first tournament and I expect you to call everything you see.

It's goes right to the top.
Almost every top player argues with being called.
One guy's argument was "why are you calling it now, but not before".
That's like saying to a cop, I speed every day and some Cops don't give me a ticket, so even though I'm speeding, why are you giving me a ticket now.
Quite frankly that's a juvenile frame of mind.

and when police man asked him about it he said he always pass through that cross section like that
