Would allowing a Volley in Table Tennis make it more exciting?

I don't have solid reasoning but this feels too drastic a change :lol:

If we do this, then allow tennis type serves too! That would be fun. Everyone will have to play far from table looping or chopping

Volley as long as the ball is over the table playing area would be interesting to try. Not after it passes off the table otherwise it might revert to the old paddle point rule which was bad.

Incidentally, back when the game was still called Gossima, that's exactly how they served. But bats were frames covered with vellum and balls were made of feathers, so it probably worked well enough...
