Recently I reached USATT rating 2000 :D and it was within 2 years of my first table tennis lesson. My passion for this sport is overwhelming and I have already made memories that will last a lifetime. I would love if you guys took the time to watch this compilation showing my development over the last 2 years. I edited this video myself and added some cool effects so hopefully you guys find it entertaining! Thanks!

Here is also a link to my USATT ratings page: https://usatt.simplycompete.com/userAccount/up/116463?embedded=&searchBy=state&query=&state=NC&max=50&arl=&arh=&list=&sort=latest_trn_rating&order=desc

I just love the transition from a basement level player to handling and dishing out the spin.

Well done toekneema, enjoyed the vid. To me the biggest improvement looked to be around Jan to May 2017. Thats when it looked like your technique and approach seemed to take a step from good club player into a very good regional type player. Even if that step wasn't yet made it appeared as though you then had the foundation to step up.

I'd like to take that step. Was there anything that you started working on in training different than before that helped you make the transition out was it just a culmination of ask the work along the way?

During the two years what was your equipment progression? Are you still using roughly the same set up our have you speed it up with equipment also?

During the first year I'd say the main thing I practiced was serve and attack (basically looping underspin balls). Then the second year I focused more on rallying topspin to topspin. Consistency is so important. As for equipment, I have always used a carbon blade. First I used the Ovtcharov Carbospeed, then I moved on to the Hurricane Long 5. For rubbers I pretty much used only Hurricane 3 NEO on both sides until like 3 months ago when I started using Tenergy 05 on FH.

Not sure what to make of this, but I think his footwork at 527 is better than anyone under 1600 at my club.

I don't think this is too unusual. 1) He's young. 2) He's worked hard and had training. 3) He's got the ability. 4) He's fit. There are a lot of us who are the opposite of all of this and are stuck at 1300.. or 1500.. or 1700... or 1900... I've known lots and lots of people in this situation, in fact most people I know will rise to a certain level and then they remain that way for years and years... That's not to discourage the rest of us...

Yeah, some of those clips when his rating is lower (before he loses the topknot  ) look better than some exchanges I've seen posted of 2000-2200 rated players, who couldn't seem to figure out each other's serves and were dumping ball after ball into the net.
