What set me off the most is we as USA Table Tennis had all the wrong things going on for a tourney to determine who will be on our national team... and the world saw it. Our tourney organizers and national association failed to perform the most basic of checks to ensure proper enforcement of standards. It was so poorly organized/poorly overseen it was scandalous.


If it was just a tourney that had these conditions, I would simply be upset and sarcastic. pgpg has seen me in a few of those moods before.


Now that this has happened, I will help ensure there is awareness until there is proper consistent enforcement of the minimum standards, so we members get the tourneys we deserve and our nation is not stepping on it.

Everything looked great on the live stream (which I watched). No sign of any problems. A female chopper won the women's championship also. Which balls were they using?

Tourney balls for LA Open were Joola Prime… a D40+ kinda ABS ball. Great if they were round, I had no complaints of ball.

I watched a couple of Hou matches on the live stream, didn't notice anything unusual either.
