People learn in different ways, for example

- Watchers. Prefer to watch how a table tennis shot is played
- Listeners. Like a technique to be described verbally
- Doers. Need to try out the technique for the shot themselves
- Analysts. Like notes they can take away and read and study
- Other

There are more learning styles and other factors such as age and attention span which impact on how people learn. I was tempted to include "combination of learning styles" but then it would be too easy for this to be the default easy option to choose and I'm interested in the "dominant" learning style.

When you have a combination of all these different types of learning it can be difficult to help a group of people at the same time. It can also take a bit of time to establish what the best approach is for any particular individual.

For me it would be interesting to learn what the most common learning style is on this forum. My gut reaction is it won't be "doers" as they'd be too busy playing table tennis to be reading or contributing to this forum, unless it's in the forum member video section. It could possibly be analysts as the forum by it's very nature contains a lot of written contributions which can be read over and over. Watchers, possibly. The video section is popular. mmmm. I'll go with analysts.

So, two questions

1. What is your dominant learning style?
2. What do you think the most common learning style is for forum members?

1. See it demonstrated (show & tell)
2. Try it
3. Review results
4. Adjust
5. Repeat

I'm similar. Except
1. See it demonstrated (show & tell)
2. Try it
3. Review results
4. Return to the table the next time and completely forget at least 1 key element of the learning
5. Get frustrated
6. Make an excuse
7. Go home frustrated and angry

For me it's mostly reading, then trying to visualise how I would implement it myself. An additional video is the most useful to me though, so that's the option I picked.
