Sorry to disturb you. I am not good at English. Yesterday, I watched the forehand drive video at https://t.co/mWOs2ouC7h From this video , pls let me explain the term 'anatomical principles of the game'. Does it refer to 'basic body parts' movements of the table tennis'? |

I guess it is about movement of limbs, and also weight shifting and transfer of energy from foot-on-floor through body, arm, racket to ball. The goal, as I take it from that video, is to understand the anatomical principles by feeling, not by theory in verbal, physical and mathemathical terms. You have to start somewhere, so physical magnitudes are initially stated as rough guides. (Elbow angle, width and angle of stance, etc.) A properly performed forehand drive drill will train muscle memory and you can feel how each component of the "power train" contributes. When the process is automated, your body knows it without you needing to be conscious about it. Quantified physical measures are translated to "feel". |
