This is a very cool way of using data from the world rankings of table tennis from 2001 until now (almost). Wang Liqin was at the top for a veeery long time, and Samsonov and Boll has been in top 10 for an eternity.... very impressive! http://youtu.be/w_751EIJ3O0 |

Yes, that's amazing, a great piece of work: fascinating to watch the changes. I don't always agree with ITTF ranking systems, especially at the moment, but over that long period it evens out pretty fairly. Lots of comments citing Timo's persistence in the Top 10: what those people possibly aren't aware of is that Vladimir Samsonov was in the Top 10 for fully five years BEFORE that video started in 2001 (from at least July 1996) and has continued in it till quite recently. |
