Well, that sheet of refoma is coming off again so I'm going to try some diff glue. But I want to remove the old glue first. Any suggestions?

Well, I gave the refoma a toss. Tired of it coming off all the time. Goin to try something diff. I got all the glue of the paddle using some lighter fluid and a razor blade. LOL, and only cut myself 2 times. I think I'm goin to try the juic 999 elite ultima sv 2.0, I have used it before and did like it. Will let you know whats happens.

I've never had any trouble getting glue off a blade... was it normal TT glue?
Normally it just rubs off.... in fact usually I hardly have to clean it, since most of the glue sticks comes off with the rubber...

It was that Juic water based crap that always seem to stay wet. Came off in chunks. (note to myself,NEVER USE THAT AGAIN).

Unlucky :(

Well normally when it comes to removing glue, I have the following options.

- Apply a layer of long lasting glue as it melts/softens everything and you can rub everything off. (expensive option)

- Eucalyptus oil is rumored to work very well, so does lighter fluid (both these stink quite badly)

- Easiest and my favorite option.. Citric Acid. Most citrus (orange, lemon) air fresheners tend to have citric acid in them. This ingredient desolves the glue very well without harming your rubbers in any way. Downside.... your racket smells quite orangy after it all :D

hope this helps

I also use the citric acid(air freshener). Ive tried lemon and lime.
But i found that the orange works really well and reacts straight away.
You can use it to remove the build up of glue, clean the topsheet, and to soften the sponge.
Also ive heard WD-40 works just as well

I can see how that aqua glue can make you grumpy. I am not going to try any of that stuff until the word on the street is that it is ggod to go. EE I was only semi good, so I waited until V 2.0 hit and I tried it - great stuff. I use several layers of rubber cement after I EE II treat the rubber.

Hi Grumpy,
Find that old sheet of Refoma. Use it like sandpaper, (the rubber side, not the sponge side) and it will take the glue off the bat leaving it like new! Press hard and keep the bat on a flat surface so you dont crack it. Works QUICK!!! :D
