Our local council is trying to put together an "intergenerational table tennis event" at outdoor tables in a park. I am taking the day off to support it. If wet or windy it will be at the local PCYC.

Opportunity to reduce the friction on my set up legally. 2500 US rating here I come! I am sure that doing this to 18 month old Tenergy 05 and Evolution FX-P will do it. /s

If I were in charge of finding equipment for the event, I'd buy a dozen or so hardbats. You can probably find decent ones at Wal-Mart or on Amazon. Don't underestimate the ability of the general public to be completely flummoxed by any sort of sandwich rubber. Typically ANY tiny amount of spin will send the ball flying off into (in this case) the trees. Keep a few conventional bats (with inverted rubber) around for those who are used to them, of course.
