Just moved into a new house, and have fulfilled a life long dream of having a dedicated space for table tennis. I have a finished rec room in the basement, and the area is in a partially finished space. It's approximately 31x19 feet in size, has vinyl flooring, some LED lights that are spaced out at 5 foot intervals, and a Butterfly Centrefold 25. I'm so excited, just wanted to share my joy with my table tennis friends here.

Absolutely lovely! Congrats! And by the looks of things pandemic-wise, it'll be necessary.

Very nice! What's the ceiling height? Any issues thus far losing sight of the ball against the light-colored walls or uneven floor coloring?

Ceiling height is 9 foot. All of the lights and any house-related mechanicals (like vents) are above the height of the beams, I asked them to design it that way.
I've only been able to have a couple of quick hits with the robot down there, but so far I didn't have any issues with seeing the ball. I've got my coach coming over on Saturday and a couple of friends also this weekend so I'll see how the wall/floor/lighting combination works out then, but from what I can tell it should be fine.
Haggis, if you can make it to the Milwaukee, WI area of the US, you are definitely welcome. :D
I had to save up a lot of money for the flooring and lighting. I'd also been saving for the table, but for the holidays in 2019 and my birthday this year my father in law was generous in gifting me money to use to get a table, so I could splurge a bit more than I'd expected on that. :)
This really is a dream come true, and with the virus still raging and clubs still closed down in my area, the timing couldn't be more perfect.
Last year I got in on the Kickstarter for the new Joola Infinity robot that they're working on, so for now I just have a basic iPong, but that will suffice until they are complete with the more "fancy" one.

Congrats, man! I recently got my own setup at home too. It's a great feeling!

Finally had a chance to play a few times this weekend and the room worked out great. Lighting was indeed balanced, nobody had problems seeing the ball against the light gray wall, and the flooring was perfect for movement and support. The flooring and table combination makes it a fast setup, which I like because it is a good simulation for tournament play. :)

Oh! That is very nice. And if Alan Bobrow came over he wouldn't be able to lob as high, too!

Haha yeah, the only play style that really wouldn't work well is fishing, but that's any basement really.
