List updated, cheers Reb, only 1 still missing... I'm also wondering if adding a min No of post (like 200) is also a good idea...?

What if we have a maintenance condition, like 20 posts a month, and if anyone considers the posts are just spam then you can judge it and remove the title if needed. I think a minimum would be ok, but as you see, there are members with titles now, who have hardly been here for ages. This would keep enough titles to go around if ex-posters have their title removed.

What do you think?

The main problem I have with imposing a minimum number of posts would really force someone to post for the sake of posting. I rather people post when they truly have something to say, be it a joke, TT info, banter, etc. I mean imagine this scenario. Say you impose 20 posts/month. And I really only have something to say for 10 posts. So I would need to just post 'hellos and goodbyes' for the next 10 posts just to make up the number. And if you have 100 titled posters doing likewise, you would force members to go through like 1000 'hellos and goodbyes' posts. At that rate, I feel OOAK forum would in time become another MYTT forum where people just post one liners just to make up high number of posts. Worse of all, this time round, the spammer would be those with titles   In addition, who is going to keep the 20 posts score? What if I forgot how many I already posted but in order to be safe and wanted to keep my title, I decided to say hello and goodbye 20 times. And again, what if more members do likewise :?:

Anyway, the above is just my opinion. And yes, I do exaggerate a bit but it is just to illustrate my point. :P

Cheers.
p.s. And please don't suggest taking titles away again. It is too stressful to even think of it  My title is thought up by a good mate. To have it removed would be an offence to my mate. AND any offence to my mate is well....., an offence to my mate :P

Would that be to your PRI-mate Choi?

I think what you say is very valid too, but I just think if someone gets sick of being on the forum and isnt seen for months, and someone else deserves a title, why should someone tie one up? 20 was a random number. Perhaps one post a month is enough just to let people know you are still kicking.

If titles get lost and they are wanted again, doesn't mean they can't be renominated for, or even held over if there is good reason someone will be away (and I mean for months). a good example will be hookshot when he goes to china.

Cheers mates, I think I violated our harsh forum rule on titles.

Pop and Swirl was one that I made up, so I need someone to make up a title for me instead of making my own. :P

Hmm, as for posting requirements, I'd rather think that new members make a 'significant' presence, like fattchoi mentioned.

I mean, I'm pretty sad that I don't see and- and geko post a lot, but I'm sure that and-'s probably practicing hard on the table, and geko's probably spying for us on some other forum. :D

Good discussion guys. I think we'll scrap a minimum post requirement...if the member gets nominated by the others, than they most likely deserve it, so that should be enough...Yes imposing minimum post is probably not a good idea, and certainly too hard to implement...once they earn they keep it IMO.

I'd like to nominate Joo Se Kev.

Ahh, Haggisv, didn't we already give Kev his title? I suggested "Sitting on Defence" and you put it on with the "-" and he said he preferred it without. Ringing Bells?

George didn't show up today, but I have an appointment (very formal) with Bill tomorrow at 9 AM at the San Diego Table Tennis Club. I am going to use this Leggy thing and I think I'll do very good.
