I played a guy last night who previously played with Dr/N on his b/hand. He had some Dr/N, equivallent smooth rubber. By God it was hard to play against, I eventually won, but I thought he was harder to beat with this new stuff. Its not all doom and gloom for you guys.

I think some of the new anti rubbers are quite good, but it takes a very skilled player to control it, consideraby more than before as it's much les forgiving... Do you remember which rubber it was?

I think he said it was Neo anti, but I didn't have a look, so I don't know who makes it.

I think the Neo Anti is potentionally harder to play against, since it allows you to vary the spin more, more like grippy long pips (as speedplay mentioned)...

I find anti to be much stranger than long pips, probably because I am a lot more accustomed to playing against long pips.

I don't mind anti too much, unless the other guy is skilled and attacks with it. If all someone does is defend with it, I've found that I eventually get used to the dead balls.

I had a guy at TT tonight try to tell me a guy he pointed at used anti. I said no he doesn't. He said he does, I belted balls at him and he just put his bat there and it would just pop back over the net. I said I guarantee you he doesn't use Anti. He said how do you know. I said I put his bat together for him a few weeks ago, and then told him the rubbers he had.

BTW, I was only there to watch...again

Thats kind of like the alcoholic who spends a couple of evenings a night in the local bar just to hang out, isn't it?

Well I guess you could liken it to that Mike, but the alcoholic won't touch a drop. I touched a bat last night (didn't swing it though) I suppose that could be like the alcoholic holding someone's glass for them though (without taking a sip)

You simply must make an east coast road trip and play against BH's pal Pat. He hits with anti and it is tricky to get the timing.

Pat is on track to crack into USATT 2000 sometime soon.
