Mars, Yes, i was at Croydon. No, its to far from Bendigo to Dandenong or Croydon just for a hit. Its bad enough driving to Coburg or to robs.

I think Supachop would at least want to see a vid of you playing to see if it was worth the trip. Actually I'm still waiting to see a decent vid of you playing (decent as in length of time of vid that is, compared to the 10 second ones).

Oh wait, I forgot. We have another 4-5 weeks before you are even able to attempt this. No matter. We been waiting a year. What's another month!

But then I guess he could always call in on JO when he found you no match. (I've seen Supachop play, sorry to say but I doubt you've improved enough to be a match).

hey think of it like this, at least he can do a video of him playing, I dont have a video recorder, and if I did, I would get looks for recording me, and I wouldnt have nyone to hold the camera while I play, so the chances of seeing me play is very low, you're lucky slip can get a chance

Folks, I'm really pleased to see you've encouraged supachop to start to post again, and very welcome it is to see as that's the whole point of this thread but within a couple of hours you're already challenging and debating how good a player he is. Give the guy a rest. Great to see you posting supachop.

Now, lets hope some more members will take the first step too - and not end up being challenged or have their playing ability debated for them!

Yes Debater has made a very good point here...

We have to respect that some new people here may

1. wish to remain anonymous and may not wish to be identified

2. wish for their level to remain private, and may not enjoy the pressure of their level being compared to other.

I hope this wasn't the case for supachop and he does stick around. Our intention was obviously to make him feel welcome, and I hope that is the way he took it!

It would still be great to hear from others that have not posted, even if it's just to hear if they feel a little intimidated by the more regular posters here, and if this is why you have not posted so far. This is obvious NOT our intention at all, as we're actually very happy to get new members, so we try to make them feel welcome!

New membership is very important to us, as we not only enjoy chatting and making new friends, but it's important for the continued success and growth of the forum. So if there's a way we can make you feel more at ease and encourage you to post, please let us know!

Ordinarily Monkey I would agree with you. But the idea of the thread is to get new posters posting, not PMing. And so I think having a discussion on common ground is good for that rather than stifling it away to PM, leaving this thread with still not much in it.

I am a very strong encourager of new posters as anyone here who knows me will know. In this case, it just so happens I've met Supachop in the flesh, so my encouragement goes double. I am not ashamed to admit that.

Thats understandable supachop, I did not realize you are based in Bendigo, too bad I spent 4 days there last Aust Day weekend for my daughter's basketball tournament and I was itching for a hit. Never got to check out the TT centre, I have heard its wonderful. Maybe next Aust Day.

Back to the original topic (before I get told off)
I lurked for quite a while before coming forward and joining in, initially it sounded like everyone had so much knowledge and experience that I did not feel I had much to add but a couple of the more fun and general topics opened the door for me. I suppose the pimple/darkside nature of the forum also made me hesitate to come forward as a double smoothy.
