Does Maria use LP on BH and anti on FH? I only noticed her hitting one smash (FH) in the 5 minutes of video I watched. |

She is a defender, so she doesn't smash that often, but it is part of her tactics to use her anti pushing/chopping in order to provoke high returns from the opponent's backhand, which she will attack with her forehand from her backhand corner. Just keep in mind this isn't professional table tennis, and she is middle-aged. In my opinion she doesn't do bad at all and plays an intelligent game. If one did have to point out a weak spot, I guess it would be the fact that she makes mistakes when getting impatient or too eager to win the point, which is the thing to avoid in defensive styles; but it is a sign of her obvious passion as well, and I kind of like it for that. |

I really like her game. Very patient. Sometimes she pushes seemingly attackable balls on the forehand, but I guess she knows what she needs to do to win. She beat two players rated over 2400 at this tournament last year. |
