hey, this is my first post, and yes, i just joined today. what this thread is about, is robot selection. i have seen the robo-pong lineup, and i have seen the joola set. i feel that the robo-pongs are expensive (only 14 so kinda tight budget) so if i am to buy a robo-pong, i would only get the 540 or the 1040. i haven't read much about the joola robots, but if you guys could recommend one for me, that would be great. what i am thinking about doing, is buying the 1040 with my money, then getting the recycling net upgrade for christmas. but thanks for helping!

UPDATE: i was playing some ping pong at my friends house, and he showed me his robot. he made his own robot for 60 bucks and it ran amazing. he used a benchgrinder for the launcher, and his own recycling system too. i am most likely going to save some money with this and build my own for now, and when i get better and better, i may buy a robot. i am excited to finish it!

If it was me, I'd buy one. I don't have the time or patience to build one for myself. Let us know how you go and post some pics of the home-made.

i gave it some thought, and the materials needed would cost more than a robot made from a company. so i am going to get a ipong topspin. it isn't the best, but it is a great price
