OOAK Table Tennis Forum

This Christmas I am going to be getting a newgy robo-pong 1040 from the OOAK shop. I am also going to be getting the additional catch net. It it shown that it is an optional feature however I am not sure if it directly recycles the balls continuously such as in the 2040, or merely recycles them. If anyone has purchased this robot and could help me with this information, I would very much appreciate it.

On another note, if Haggisv sees this, am I able to pick up robots from your store in Mawson lakes? Or is it only applicable via postage because it is large and is not stored there.

Vel, I believe the 1040 does not recycle balls. The catch net merely helps stop balls from going all over the floor. You need to manually still put the balls back into the hopper I think when it empties. However, given that even with a catch net and recycle system you eventually miss the catch net enough that this has to happen anyway.

I would point out that I have a friend who has a 2040 in VGC for sale over here and I think you could get it for a bargain. Let me know if you'd like his number to ring and ask questions.

I sold my 1040 a while ago. It does have a net, but you still end up picking up balls no matter how good the net is. The 2040 recycles well though and having the recycler does really make a difference.
Right now I have a y & t robot that has programming and two wheels. I'm not sure if the extra wheel and programming is worth another 500 or so dollars...

i'd suggest the used 2040 if you can get your hands on it. Cleaning the wheels is pretty easy.
plus if he's willing to give you the balls then you got yourself a really good deal:)

I've moved this topic to the OOAK store section, since these question seem mainly directed at OOAK store.

The catch net just catches the balls, so when you finish you don't have to pick up most of them, and you can just put them back into the robot. Only the 2040 or 2050 recycles the balls.

Regarding pickup, yes you're welcome to pick up from Mawson Lakes, just contact us to arrange a suitable time.

So from what I can gather from everyone's helpful response (thank you ) The ball net may not recycle the balls however it is not that much of a bonus anyway. I could not find the thread about that 2040 of your friends that was for sale reb, if you could post the link I would very much appreciate it.
