Probably should be possible as this is a simple android app, but I never tried.

Looks like the synchronisation with the robot itself is bluetooth-based an the robot and the tablet are paired on the factory - they immediately see each other and no action is required.

Hi guys. Last time nobody answer my question so I will try to ask you one more time in different way.

I set 1 ball shooting to the BH position as near center as I can on my Amicus Advance (first move of the head of robot to BH). I am using all the same balls - 2 star Gewo celuloid.

Some balls go to the center and some to the BH in random order (head doesn't move). Is it normal? Do anyone has the same problem? In FH there is not any problem - all balls go the same place.

Here is how it looks like:

Please help... :(

I'm having a similar issue with mine too.

I have a sequence of: backspin to backhand, light top spin to my forehand, dead ball to the middle, dump into the net (since I can't delay the advance I just shoot a ball into the net for reset time).

What is happening lately is that I'm getting often a light top spin ball to my backhand and not the forehand. Once it starts doing this it will continue doing this until I reprogram it by loading the sequence again.

Out of curiosity once it started doing the messed up sequence, I went and saved to a new location. After loading up that new save...it kept serving backhands which tells me that the programming itself changed.

Seems like a glitch/bug in my advance. I'm going to have to contact butterfly about it.

I think your problem is something complitly different. I do not use any sequence. I only use nr 1 knob and want to have all balls in the same place, but somehow robot can't do it...

I had such problems two times.

One time re-calibrating the head fixed everything, second time I had cleaned the balls and the head (white strip and black side walls) to fix this.

I'd suggest taking a closer inspection of the head.

I've downloaded and installed Amicus application on my smartphone - this is the same application to control the robot as the one on the dedicated tablet. Works fine so far - found the robot immediately, does the same magic as the dedicated tablet.

Hello Amicus group.

I am about to purchase a robot after using the Newgy 1050 for 3 years.
I am looking to upgrade to a multi motor robot so that I can simulate coach drills (different spins
and shots coming off blocked balls) and in game
shots better.

It seems that one robot can't do it all.

My ideal robot can

1. serve, then shoot any spin in any place after the serve. Simulate a point situation.
*Can the Amicus serve a serve that bounces on it's own side first?

2. Be placed anywhere on and off the table to simulate coach multiball.
i.e. shots down the line to return down the line. Multiball from the
side of the table. Shots from the corners or away from the table.

*The Chinese Y&T robots can be moved around. I'm just not sure if they can
produce serves? I'm also curious if they can produce the same spin
functions as the Amicus.

Ideally a robot can simulate coach drills and balls from all areas on and
off the table including serves. I might be asking too much but thought I'd
start my research here.

Any info would be great. Thanks.

I may have answered my own post here.
I found a video on the Amicus 1000 with Stefan Feth. I assume that the latest and greatest
models can do this too...

Yes, it can.

Amicus can be theoretically placed anywhere, but it's not the normal way to use it. First, you'll lose the ball collecting net. Next, you'll need to experiment with ball placement settings, as the robot's software supposes it is always positioned in the middle of the table's edge opposite to you.

I just picked up TT again, after very little play the last couple of years. I have an Amicus Pro, and I'm trying to run some drills on it. I'm finding that many of my old drills don't work the same. For example, many serve balls with backspin won't clear the net. I've been trying to adjust the wheels, but I either end up with balls that won't exit the machine (giving an error), or balls that are too slow.

Does anyone know the proper way to do the wheel adjustment? It's not clear if you're supposed to line up the "rails" on the wheel adjuster gauge with the wheels, or have the rails between the wheels. I would have considered myself an expert on this robot (I actually have two, and hacked it and developed my own iPhone controller for it a while back), but can't get this to work. I can replace the wheels, but they are silly expensive and my current wheels don't seem that worn. Plus it's strange that I'm having this problem now, when I'm sure it was working fine the last time I used it. It's almost like the age of the wheels is the problem.

Disclaimer: I don't, and never have, owned a robot.

Looking at it from the other direction, have you cleaned your TT balls?

No, I haven’t actually. I thought of that, but the balls are only mildly dirty, and I don’t think would cause this drastic a difference in performance.
