goodluck!

if all else fails, i can confirm that the uk site is reliable and ships fast (2 day shipping). however, megaspin has great customer service and gave me a full refund when returning my oukei s9 (despite their policy of not covering return shipping).

I emailed them today to ask if they were sending them out today or tomorrow. They replied to say "yes" but… they must mean tomorrow since I didn't get a shipping update today… :P

@ abraSPIN - I too had that left to right deflector plate thingy go off center. it also happened when i was programming my 1-8 ball drills. i remember hearing a loud clang and when i started my drill the balls were shooting off the side of the table. so what i did was push the left to right deflector back to center position and everything was ok.. so i am sure there must be something we are doing wrong when we program a drill or this might be a huge "BUG" that they need to fix.

I too had this left/right calibration problem, with the "Clang" sound, and also a similar issue with the trajectory calibration where all my saved drills would suddenly be throwing too high. Sometimes it would correct itself, but if I had re-programmed the drills, now every ball was into the net.

RESOLVED - In my case, the solution was simple. Hopefully this can help anyone else that happens to have the same cause.

First, moving the deflector around with your finger does not do anything because it is desinged to recalibrate after being bumped off by manual force.

The reply I received from Manfred was to check the pins on all my connectors and make sure none were bent or broken. Although all my pins were fine, this led me to my problem. The connector that is inside the ball collection tray does not fit tightly. I easily wiggles around. Usually it is fine, but what happens is that some balls may get wedged in such that they push it sideways and it does not have a good connection

Even if only one pin on the connector is loose, the robot can perform unpredictably. The balls are constantly moving around this connector, which can explain momentary problems, and when they get wedged in, problems that persist until the balls are moved.

In my case it was so easy to fix. Tighten up connector, and everything back to normal.

I am going to add the 2 screws to hold this connector down. I do not want to do that for the control box connector because I want it to pull out easily if someone steps on the cable, but remember that the same problem can happen if ANY of the connectors become loose.

Hope it helps!

Just bumping to say that I am enjoying this thread and that MegaSpin is continually pushing back the dates of my Pro and a fellow OOAKer's robot too. The site currently says February 26th… which seems like an odd thing to add to a site on February 25th…

Thanks! I was about to commandeer screws from an old VGA connector, and realized that it may not be a straightforward swap.

(1) Connector within the ball collection tray: there seems to be "screws" from the inside poking out, and the gap seems too long for my VGA screws

(2) Connector on side below ball collection tray: there are screws, but much larger gauge than the VGA screws. also, the distance btw the connecter and box seems too wide to accommodate standard screws.

I would imagine that if it would have been straight-forward, Butterfly would have included screws. this may need something non-standard to work.

If any of you guys figure out the right setup to fasten these connectors, please let me know.

If Megaspin is waiting to receive inventory from overseas, it may have been affected by the dock workers strike at the west coast ports.

My Amicus pro came from megaspin and it arrived quickly but that was back in December. On the other hand, I ordered rubber from a place in Europe 5 weeks ago, which was shipped quickly but still has not arrive in the US yet.

I have received the missing adjustment tube from my dealer this week.

I am having problem with the memory function now. In memory mode, the right arrow button doesn't work, the left button is OK. I can only scroll backward. I checked all the connectors, all OK. Looks like the right arrow button is dead.

I send an email to my dealer, waiting for the response.

Hey guys,

just wanted to show what i have done in my basement for my training area.

the Power pong catch net is just too small and i find my self often after 5 - 10 mins having to stop training and pick up balls..

i so what i did was spend about 60 bucks to solve this problem. i created a Catch Wall on all 3 sides of the receiving table with 84 inch coverage from ceiling to table :)

bought some curtains and cheap rods and suspended them to the table.

it has solved pretty much any issues. :)

i put the white sheets on the table left because the light source is coming from that side. i still might get all black sheets and try different lighting but for now.. the only thing that is keeping me from training is my laziness.

happy pong guys !

thanks for sharing... thats a great idea. i was looking into getting mosquito netting, but cheap curtains are even better!

even when i'm doing a drill and am hitting balls into the catch net, some bounce out... its pretty frustrating when it collides with incoming balls.

anyone who has adapted/modified setups, please share.

I'm not an owner of the robot but will be picking one up in the coming months.

I emailed butterfly directly asked the cost of upgrading from the Basic to the Advance or Pro. Here are the prices:

Amicus Advance Control Panel - $699.99
Amicus Professional Control Panel - $1099.99

Not sure if this was posted before but thought I'd add it. Not sure if shipping is included there.

Abraspin,

i totally agree, often i hit shots into the controlled area and the ball comes flying out so with this set up (curtain walls) it is so much better and improved now..

right now i don't have any drills to share but will be thinking of some soon.. work has been kicking my butt recently and i haven't had too much time to myself..

Hi All,

This is a great thread to start off with... Just purchased/picked up the Amicus Pro last week for my 9 yr old son who is playing A- Grade Jr and trying for state team. IMO, out of the box, not an easy machine to program as the Manual just tells you what it can do and doesn't show how to do it. Will be exploring this thread to program the drills for him.

Appreciate if someone can share on tips on how to program it.

Many thanks in advanced.

Cheers
Ken
