I was just wondering if any of you guys did anything washing the balls you use in your robots. If so, how? The ones I have in mine look kinda grungy, but they still seem to work fine

I don't wash them, but I did prepare them by rubbing them down with vegetable oil per the manufacturer's recommendations for new balls. If I'm using tacky rubbers I may do a once-over with a damp towel for any copious amounts of dust.

I use a mild soap and fill a sink with water, dump 10 to 20 at a time of the 300 I have every quarter or so. dry each one individually then dump the lot on my wife carpet in the den with the ceiling fan running, wait until they are totally dry again.

vegetable oil?
