Of course the other thing is the paddle palace unit come with a folding catch net. once set up, which only takes a second, as long as you retun the ball into the net, it keeps recycling the balls. I tried out one like that and I played about 20 min with only 50 balls. With the one I have now, I go thru about 200 balls in a few min, then I turn the machine off and go scoop another 200 balls out of the catch net and do it again

Maybe I just suck but I find the balls do tend to lose their way with some regularity so unless practicing conservatively ball-pickup after a few hundreds shots is part of the rotation anyway.

Just fyi, I have a recycling Y&T A9, basically the paddle palace one (which is a rebrand) with some more electronics.

That's ridiculously cool.

It IS rubber (I think...)

I think they're just polyester cycling suits, they have a whole collection, eg: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z ... 3567644632

I'm planning to wear them as jerseys while playing, but the TT world may not be ready for such fabulous.

I must admit, they do look like things cyclists would wear. Wouldn't the long sleeves be a problem for table tennis? Yeah, they WOULD cause a stir at the club, but I'll bet you could wear them on the NY subway without raising an eyebrow (judging from this set of pictures a friend sent me).

I would really save up and go for a 2 or 3 wheel robot. I got a one wheel robot which I train most days and I really feel I would improve much faster with a better robot. My coach says not to use a robot. However I feel the new robots coming out now are much better than the one wheel ones.

Interesting -- why is your coach against it? Seems to me that it would be great if for nothing else than repetitions of forehands and backhands, focusing on technique.
