Red Atlas, I think I do more closer stuff than further back as it's easier to generate a slow ball. I forget the numbers but the average number of shots in a point i think is around 4 give or take one. At my level, at that stage of the point its still a slow ball coming over, often a push, which you attack so thats what I practice the most.

Put the robot close, maybe a little front tilt, settings 3003 or so so the second bounce is just off the table then loop the hell out of it...:)

What's the best setting for practising forehand and backhand counter? A little top spin and closer to the net?

Any topspin settings should be OK. Depends on whether you want a counter hit or counter loop. For a hit I'd keep the spin similar on both wheels to have minimal topspin, maybe 6031?? Move and tilt the robot to where it works better.

Thanks for the advice. This works great. I'm very happy about this robot!

I'm following a YouTube table tennis video, which shows how one should nail the counter hit before practicing loops. One common issue with skipping hit too early is that you will tend to use too much of the upper arm and shoulder, instead of the forearm. Forearm is the key to produce the killer loops.

Mine has been sitting untouched for the last 3 years... :lol: If I had a table permanently set up somewhere I'd probably actually use it. Setting up and taking down the net was probably the biggest pain in the rear..

I am one of those who bought this robot and didn't use it for years, i started to use it this year last month, and it is not operating well, i feel like the balls aren't coming as it should be, blockage a lot or hanging a lot, not sure if it needs kind of grease or not, i did clean it but sounds not enough, and the rotating plate is likely stuck there if i load it with many balls, so i am not sure if i should try to clean and maintain it or i leave it as it is, and i was going to buy same robot again because cheaper so i can put each on the sides of the table in front of me.

Just an update for those considering an Ipong robot: I really liked my Ipong Motion and used it a lot. After about a year of use, the motor that drives the feed disk died. When I contacted Ipong to inquire about buying a new motor, I was disappointed to learn that NO parts are available for purchase. I ended up making the Ipong usable again by replacing the feed disk motor with the oscillator motor. It works fine this way, but of course no longer oscillates. I ended up buying a Newgy 1040 and modifying the Ipong net so it would recycle balls like the 2040. If you can afford a Newgy, I recommend it highly!

Megaspin were actually using one of my youtube videos for a while but have now taken it down.

There are plenty of other stores that have taken liberty to still use it though. I made contact with a couple, including with Joola themselves but no response. Might have thought over 100,000 views and climbing plus might have been worthy of some acknowledgement.

Oh I just checked the Czech TT shops that had my videos and they are taken down now. My email RE copyright must have got through.

My V300 died by the way....... :P
