hi, has anyone any experience of the haipeng hp-07. The reviews are virtually non-existent online. The robot is very reasonable priced on ali-express and offers the extra feature of side-spin over the iPong v300 (the other robot I'm considering).

The background is I'm a fairly competent beginner to intermediate. I started TT little over a year. I've been making really good progress over the past 6 on my right hand. I took an impact to my right shoulder playing in a charity soccer match. Since then I've been suffering tendinopathy in that shoulder. As a solution I've started playing with the left hand. The left hand is progressing well enough for doubles. But really I need loads of work polishing the four basic learner shots (fh + bh pushes and drives) and developing a left hand loop. Thus I'm looking at robots. However I don't have much money to spend. I can stretch up to £200 max (probably $250 roughly). The v300 and hp-07 seem my best options.

I've had an HP-07 for two years. The head is Newgy-ish, the remote is simple and has a decent-length cord, and the whole thing has been very reliable. It seldom hangs, but it doesn't like 40+ balls - maybe they've updated it to be 40+ compatible since I bought mine, I don't know.

I'd also bought the earlier version of this 2-head, 4-wheel (2 wheels per head) robot at the same time: https://world.taobao.com/item/390497125 ... abbucket=3 (run it through Google Translate if you need to). Unlike the HP-07, it appears to work OK with 40+. The one I bought had a bit of a hobbyist D.I.Y. feel to it, there is no remote control (although the new one has a wireless remote), and it took some trial and error to figure out the controls since I don't read Chinese. I actually prefer the versatility of this one to the HP-07, but used the HP-07 a lot more simply because this other one mysteriously stops often, and I then need to go to the other end of the table and fiddle around with the ball feed or turn the tiny power switch on/off a couple of times. If the updated version has ironed out those bugs, then I'd recommend it.

My practice balls are all 40+ annoyingly. I have never seen that other option before. I will take a look.

Hi everyone,

I've seen a few people say in other places that the latest HP-07 can handle 40+ balls.

I just got a HP-07 off Ebay, but I don't have any 40+ balls yet. I ordered some from AliExpress but I'll probably have to wait 2 more weeks before they arrive.

While I wait for the balls to show up, I'm wondering if there's a way to tell which version of the HP-07 I have? The old one that can't handle 40+ balls, or the new one that can?

Here's a photo of some stickers on the box: https://i.imgur.com/EjcXAaY.jpg

What's concerning to me is that the stickers say "HP-0700001V1". I hope the "1V1" doesn't mean it's the first version that doesn't take 40+ balls. Anyone have any idea?

I have had this robot long enough to submit my opinion of it
It is easy to set up/ it handles 40+ balls without a problem/I don't use training balls/the remote control is easy to use, and the cord is very long/it does a great job feeding long topspin balls/it can feed you almost no spin double bounce serves.
My frustrations with this robot began when using the underspin function. I could not figure out how to get it to feed me realistic long or short underspin. The balls either bounced too high, into the net, or too fast. I am not one to give up easily, so I took the robot off the table and moved it around while it was shooting balls, moving backwards, forwards and tilting it by hand. It was then that I realized that all I needed to do was to make a small, portable mount for it that could be tilted in small increments. My portable mount is steady, and can be placed anywhere, including on the table, and the robot can be quickly removed from it and placed back on the end of the table. I don't have a catch net.
I can now have it serve double bounce underspin serves anywhere I want them, or have it send varying underspin that can come off the table at the distance that I want them to be. I am very pleased now.

I thought that it would be worth updating my experiences with this robot:
I put the portable mount that I made for this on top of a stable movable table that I can place anywhere I want to. Presently, it is off the table, behind the net, on the left side of the table. The underspin knob goes up to 7, which is unrealistic spin. I put it on 4.5, and pointed it to my forehand. I now can practice looping so that the balls will not hit the robot. It is great practice and exercise.
This robot has not jammed once. It sells on Amazon for around $265.00.
I realize that I had to make a portable mount for it, but it was well worth the effort.
Sorry that I cannot post a picture of my portable mount. It is basically uses the same hardware used to hold return board, and allows for tilting in small increments.
