Yes. This product actually uses the well documented placebo effect. If you think it works, then maybe it does.

Similar products have come, been sued, and have gone.

Butterfly and Gao Jun should be ashamed IMO. Or maybe not. I think the real benefit of lots of TT gear is also largely placebo as well.

Lots of top sports people wear similar products - which should be a lesson in how much weight you should put into sports figure endorsements - even in areas where they should be expert.

BTW, if you go to their website, you will find no documentation that demonstrates that the product actually works. What you will find is numerous documents talking about the benefits of negative ions. None of the documents is peer reviewed.

Positive and negative ions occur naturally all the time. An ion is simply an atom or group of atoms with an electrical charge. Because of the charge, ions do not tend to persist. They "find" other atoms with the opposite charge and get neutralized. Of course, the ions might be sequestered in the bracelet somehow. But if so, how could they possibly benefit the wearer? So how can the bracelet continue to supply ions so that they could be somehow beneficial? The only way I know of doing that without the device being powered is from ionizing radiation such as that used in smoke detectors.

Anyway, I'd wait for some strong supporting evidence before buying one for anything other than jewelry purposes.

My doctorate is in neurophysiology. It is nonsense, and it is not even original nonsense.

I remember this crap. The English cricket team was wearing these under the name power balance in 2010 or something. I think they were also wearing the magnetic therapy ones as well - Nittaku and Butterfly also sell these.

Yes, it is crap. And you don't even need a doctorate in neurophysiology to figure that out. :^)

BTY made a very plain black band like this years ago. I bought a couple and I enjoyed playing while wearing them. They looked good and I felt good wearing them. It was a nice accessory and nothing to do with science.

Yeah. If you like it for jewelry/style/etc., that's cool. It's the bogus energy/science claims that aren't cool.

I had a good friend who would sell powerbalance braceletes (pretty much the same thing as these) for 10-20 bucks a pop. He would do this trick you stood with your feet together and he would pull on your hand and you would fall over. Then the same thing with the bracelet on and you wouldn't budge. It was really weird. It worked like 99% of the time no matter how many times people tried or whoever was doing it. He made a killing at parties with drunk kids. It was pretty funny. Quite the salesman

Now you can do this too with the power of your own magical trinket!
