Gentlemen,

Every time I play now I'm getting serious aches across my knuckles on my playing hand.

It's worst in the knuckle of my middle finger but feels like a "band" across the knuckles which is hurting.

My bat is heavy. JSH with max thickness H3 and Curl P1-R. I haven't weighed it but everyone that picks it up says "wow yeah that's heavy".

Could the weight be the problem? Or is there something else I can look at to help with this?

Is your JSH blade with a straight handle? Maybe the weight and a straight handle causes you to grip the racket more tightly. Doing that for extended training sessions can cause pain. Do you use grip tape?

Yeah it's a straight handle. I know I grip tightly but I always have - in fact my grip is a lot more loose now than it used to be. I used to get blisters on my palm almost constantly, I haven't had any of those for months now.

I twiddle a lot too and this appears to exacerbate the pain. Grip tape makes twiddling more difficult so it's not something I can really afford to do.

I find the chuffing ball hitting my knuckles really hurts with this new ball, spitefully so.

I know I am starting to get arthritis in my hand joints, maybe that is what it is, if your joints hurt when you clench your hands, then that is maybe it!

Mine hurt more at sometimes than others, surprisingly when it is hot!
