Coaching between points is fine as long as it is not disrupting the game. I see no problems with it.

In Tennis the scenarios from Tournaments in WTA allow coaching! But US Open Grand Slam is not allowed. Why not just install one-way dark-non-reflective box where the coaches are seated so that coaches can watch and shout all they like, but the players are going to see natch.

:D

I am a big fan of "the rules are there for a reason". I will follow the rules to a tee - but if the rules say I can coach my players between points, you better believe I'm hollering and yelling and doing what I need to do to motivate my player if I'm in the corner (juniors in particular).

Hmm.. So "no coaching" also meant "no hollering" and "no cheering"? Wow, that's interesting. I guess you'd be allowed to sit there stony-faced..

TBH it kind of did. I'd seen cards given out many times due to what was "apparent coaching" during a match. you basically couldn't open your mouth until the set was over.

Could a coach sit in the stands and just happen to holler coaching to their player? Plausible deniability? Could it be counted as overzealous cheering? :P

So maybe a hood and mask would have been a necessary bit of kit for a coach... And maybe handcuffs as well.
